New Owners[edit]

On September 8th 2016 it was announced that Liberty Media was to take over ownership of Formula 1 from CVC Capital Partners.[1]

After winning the world title (his first) in 2016, Nico Rosberg announced he was going to retire with immediate effect.[2] This is not something that is normally done with drivers striving to win multiple world titles.
